Meet the founder
Hi, I'm Liv.
Why I started this brand, and who it's really for.
I started Liv Lou because I was tired of waiting. Tired of waiting for the "right" size, the right season of my body, the right moment to finally feel beautiful in what I was wearing. I've watched hundreds of women carry that same belief — that beautiful things were for someday, for a smaller version of themselves, not the body they're in right now. We've been conditioned to feel less deserving than a smaller body, by society, by brands, sometimes even by the people closest to us.
I discovered Qurves in 2019, modeled for the store for years, and bought it in February 2024 — the easiest decision I've ever made. Owning it confirmed what I already suspected: plus-size women are overlooked, sourcing is painfully limited, and the cute, trendy pieces keep going to straight sizes while ours stay an afterthought. Most brands can't even conceive of a fat woman wanting to wear a mini skirt — so they just don't make it. That's what pushed me to build something made for us, from the start.
I wanted clothes that fit the body I have right now, not the one I used to have or the one I was told to work toward — and I wanted out of sizing that makes no sense, where one brand's 16 is another's 12. So I built the brand I wished existed: pieces designed around real bodies, with fit ranges instead of a single rigid size.
Every piece carries a little of my own story in it, and I hope it helps you write yours. For you, now.
